It is our honor to invite you to VOCAL-NY’s 2021 annual gala on Tuesday, September 28th at Threes Brewing, 333 Douglass in Brooklyn from 6-9PM.
This year we are proud to announce three honorees whose commitment to justice, compassion, and love have helped improve and save thousands of lives across New York.
- Reginald Brown, VOCAL-NY Board Member & Leader in VOCAL-NY’s Positive Leaders Union
- Victor Pate, NYC Campaign Organizer for New York Campaign for Alternatives to Isolated Confinement
- Monique Wright, Harm Reduction Unit Manager for New York City Department of Health & Mental Hygiene
Our theme this year is VOCAL Forever — and all proceeds will support our capital campaign to build our permanent home for justice, compassion, and love.
We will gather in person at Threes Brewing in Brooklyn for a night of celebrating our victories, reflecting on where we go next, and honoring folks who have played significant roles in our success. From ending the use of long-term solitary confinement and restoring the right to vote for people on parole, to marijuana legalization grounded in racial justice and syringe decriminalization, to the passing of House Our Neighbors with Dignity Act to expanded access to medication assisted treatment, there is much to honor and remember.
This year will be significant for VOCAL-NY and our community as we open the doors to our new, permanent home at 300 Douglass Street and invite you to join our capital campaign to renovate our space so we can expand our life-saving harm reduction services and grow our capacity to build the power of low-income people dedicated to ending the HIV/AIDS epidemic, homelessness, mass incarceration, and the War on Drugs.
We are depending on our supporters, community, and allies to help us own our home in Brooklyn and make our dreams a reality. Despite the obstacles and challenges we continue to face we have not lost our passion and vision of creating a more equitable New York. We know you haven’t either.
We hope to see you on Tuesday, September 28th!
COVID Safety Note: In light of public health concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic and in order to be able to gather in person as safely as possible, VOCAL-NY is requiring that all attendees of the 2021 Annual Gala be fully vaccinated. If you will not be fully vaccinated by September 28th, we invite you to make a donation to VOCAL-NY or purchase a ticket for a member. Proof of vaccination will be required to gain entrance to the Annual Gala.
